Blood

Advocacy

Week

In early 2023, we were contacted again by America’s Blood Centers, but this time for producing a series of animated videos that would correspond with their Blood Advocacy week.

ABC was headed to Capitol Hill to raise awareness for new changes in blood donation regulation. Each video discussed a specific topic of change, including updates on donor eligibility regarding gay and bisexual men, and a call to action to encourage more diverse donors.

We worked with ABC on their scripts for this four video series, and then created visual scripts to nail down our actions before starting the animation. We went with the clean, readable look of iconography, with some animated textures and a bold palette to keep it lively.

We need to diversify our blood supply.

Blood donations are more complicated than just blood types! In this video we explain the need for diversity in blood donors.

New donor eligibilty!

This video raises awareness for new regulations that allow more gay and bi-sexual men to donate blood, and how the FDA is lifting restrictions on certain travel history.

Access to blood

Blood is needed in multiple settings outside of hospitals. It's a critical tool in saving the lives of trauma victims before they get to the hospital, and it's also an important part of end-of-life care. This video raises awareness of the need for access to blood in these settings.
